Scott Shapiro’s Week 15 NFL 4-Pack

A challenging weekend of games in the NFL follows a thriller between the Chargers and Chiefs on Thursday night. Here is my Week 15 NFL 4-Pack Indianapolis Colts (-3) vs Dallas Cowboys The first-place Cowboys head north to Lucas Oil Stadium after winning their fifth game in a row last Sunday. Dallas has to be feeling pretty good about themselves after outgaining the Eagles 576 to 256 yards and controlling the ball for more than 45 minutes in a 29-23 [...]

Scott Shapiro’s NCAA Hoops Analysis- Saturday December 15th

After a slow week on the hardwood, things pick back up this weekend in college basketball as a number of top-tier schools look to pick up key out of conference wins before 2018 concludes. Here are a few games I will have my eye on this Saturday: #21 Villanova Wildcats at  #1 Kansas Jayhawks (Saturday, Dec 15 - 12 pm ET) The defending champions are off to a slow start to the season. Villanova was blown out at home by [...]

Scott Shapiro’s Week 15 Thursday Night Analysis- Chargers at Chiefs

A big one in the AFC West between two of the league’s best teams starts the antepenultimate week of action in the National Football League. The Los Angeles Chargers enter Week 15 with an 11-2 record, but will need things to go their way over the last three weeks to avoid a road game to start the playoffs. Los Angeles has won three in a row and 9 of 10 after losing 2 of 3 to start the season. Their [...]

Scott Shapiro’s Week 14 NFL 4-Pack

After a one-sided Thursday night game dominated by Derrick Henry and the Titans to start off a week full of divisional battles, a plethora of meaningful games are on tap this weekend in the National Football League. Here is my Week 14 4-Pack: Dallas Cowboys (-3.5) vs Philadelphia Eagles The defending champions may have won two in a row, but do not be fooled by them outscoring their last two opponents and getting back into a position to potentially win [...]

In-State Rivalries Headline a Full Slate of Games on the Hardwood on Saturday Afternoon- Scott Shapiro’s NCAA Hoops Analysis

A plethora of intriguing out of conference contests, including a number of in-state rivalries, headline a solid slate of games on the hardwood Saturday afternoon. Here are my thoughts on a few of the bigger games on December 8th in NCAA Basketball:   #9 Kentucky Wildcats vs Seton Hall Pirates Kentucky got off to a poor start to the season when they were blown out by Duke 118-84 in their season opener. The Wildcats have not necessarily dazzled since the [...]

Scott Shapiro’s Week 14 Thursday Night Analysis- Jaguars at Titans

Divisional matchups are the theme in Week 14 in the National Football League with 7 of the 16 games pitting pit teams that have already played each other this season. The first of these such games is on Thursday Night in Nashville where the Tennessee Titans play host to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Tennessee has been a hard team to handicap this season because of their inconsistency. Just when you think you have a good read on the Titans they revert [...]

Scott Shapiro’s Week 13 NFL 4-Pack

Week 13 got started with one of the best defensive efforts of the season as the Dallas Cowboys ran their record to 7-5 with a 13-10 victory against the New Orleans Saints. A number of meaningful games highlight a full slate in the National Football League on Sunday. Here is this week’s 4-Pack: New England Patriots (-5) vs Minnesota Vikings As expected the Patriots came off their bye week and handled the Jets in Week 12, 27-13. Now “Brady’s Bunch” [...]

Scott Shapiro’s Week 13 Thursday Night Analysis- Saints at Cowboys

The bye weeks are behind us meaning each squad in the National Football League has just five games left on their 2018 schedules. Some teams have little left to play for given poor performances more times than not through the first 11 games, but two of them with plenty still on the line meet on Thursday in Dallas to kick off Week 13. The New Orleans Saints are the hottest team in the league. Not only have they rattled off [...]

Scott Shapiro’s Week 12 NFL 4-Pack

After a trio of games on Turkey Day, a slate without the Saints, Rams and Chiefs awaits us on Sunday. There are still plenty of meaningful games on tap though. Here is my Week 12 NFL Sunday 4-Pack: Minnesota Vikings (-3.5) vs Green Bay Packers In a game both NFC North teams need desperately, the Packers make the short trip to the Twin Cities to take on the Vikings. Green Bay comes in off of extra rest after losing a [...]

Scott Shapiro’s Thanksgiving Day NFL Thoughts and Selections

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I am still catching my breath from the shootout in the Coliseum where the Los Angeles Rams outdueled Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in the highest scoring contest in Monday Night Football history 54-51. This year I am thankful for a lot of things, but the Eagles offense is not one of them. Philadelphia let me down big time when scoring just 7 points last week to keep my Week 11 “Top Play” UNDER the [...]
