On Wednesday the pre-entries for the 2013 Breeders’ Cup World Championship were released and after a day to look over it, there are some interesting prospects and very race could determine an Eclipse Award.

On day one, Friday, November 1, there are five Breeders’ Cup races ending with the $2-million Distaff, a race that drew a field of six, but five of them look to have a shot. Headlining the field is the two-time defending champion, Royal Delta. Also in the field is the filly that just beat her, the Pennsylvania-bred Princess of Sylmar as well as Close Hatches, winner of the Cotillion at Parx, and Beholder, winner of the Grade 1 Zenyatta at Santa Anita. Authenticity finished behind Beholder in the Zenyatta and is a sneaky play over a fair non-biased race track. This is a tough way to end the pick-4 and pick-6.

The Marathon kicks off the day and it looks like a race best to skip. In the Juvenile Turf and Juvenile Fillies Turf it’s best to look to the European shippers. Clenor is the best hope for the U.S.-based runners in the Juvenile Fillies Turf, but her Racing Post Ratings do not match up to the other Euros that are in the field. The Dirt Mile is the other Friday race and that is another wide open affair.

Saturday’s races end with the Classic where a field of 13 where pre-entered. The race drew a lot of speed with Game On Dude, Fort Larned, Graydar, Moreno and Paynter. Ron the Greek will be running the best late while Mucho Macho Man and Palace Malice will the stalking the early pace. Will Take Charge adds another Grade 1 winner with Aidan O’Brien sending over his Declaration of War and Marco Botti entering the Irish-bred Planteur.

Wise Dan may get another perfect trip in the Mile just off the pace of Obviously and Silver Max, but don’t sleep on the Europeans. Flotilla won the Juvenile Fillies Turf last year, Magician is a Group 1 winner and the best of them all, Olympic Glory, just won the QEII Stakes at Ascot in dominant fashion. It is; however, asking a lot for him to ship and run back all within two weeks.

Other races on the day are the Juvenile Fillies, Juvenile, Filly and Mare Turf, Filly and Mare Sprint, Turf Sprint, Turf and Sprint. It should be a great two days of racing, stay tuned for analysis of all the races here at Bet America.
