Although the Miami-Ohio Redhawks can’t win the MAC, they can become bowl eligible with a win on Tuesday versus the Ball State Cardinals. Miami-Ohio has turned their season around in their last couple of games, upsetting Ohio 30-28 and taking down Northern Illinois 13-7. They're steamrolling in to College Football Week 13 picks with a head full of steam as a heavy favorite against Ball State.

In the second MAC matchup on Nov. 20, the Northern Illinois Huskies look to book a trip to the MAC Championship off a victory after the loss to Miami-Ohio. Beating a quality rival like Western Michigan should give the Western Division winners plenty of momentum in their battle with likely East Division winner Buffalo.

Check out analysis and picks for Ball State at Miami-Ohio and Northern Illinois at Western Michigan on Tuesday, Nov. 20.

Ball State Cardinals at Miami-Ohio Redhawks -17

On the surface, this is a simple matchup with the ice cold Cardinals and the scorching Redhawks. Ball State is 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games following an ATS win, 2-7 ATS in their last 9 road games, and 7-19 in their last 26 in the MAC.

The trends favor the Redhawks. Miami-Ohio is 7-1 ATS in their last 8 in conference, and 4-1 ATS versus a team with a losing record. The Redhawks also come to battle off a win over Northern Illinois as a +9 dog.

So far, so good, for Miami-Ohio backers. I’m not ready to lay my money on the Redhawks, though. The road team in this rivalry is 7-3 ATS in the last 10 while the underdog is 5-2 ATS in the last 7. Miami-Ohio should win. I’m not sure they win by more than 10 points. That number is just too big for my liking.

Northern Illinois Huskies -5.5 at Western Michigan Broncos

Northern Illinois blew it in their last, but they’re going to win the MAC West whether Western Michigan beats them or not. The Broncos average close to 34 points per. Western Michigan will try to get the defensive-minded Huskies into a shootout while NIU will work to slow down the game.

The Broncos look attractive getting over 5 points until checking the trends. Northern Illinois owns Western Michigan against the line, going 16-4-1 ATS in their last 21 meetings. The Huskies are 4-3-1 ATS in the last 5 at Western Michigan while also going 4-1 ATS versus a team with a winning record. It makes sense to lay points in this matchup.
