Week 6 of the college football season brings us one step closer to a full slate of games and the debut of arguably the nation’s best team, Ohio State.

In the meantime, we’re fortunate to still get play from the SEC and ACC, which features four of the other top five teams in the country. With Alabama, Georgia, and Florida propelling themselves to an elite level, and Clemson doing its usual thing in the ACC, the stratification of college football is ever-present.

Let’s take a look at a couple of these teams’ Week 6 games, as well as one other game that should make for a great matchup this Saturday.

The Florida Gators are off to a great start in 2020, having scored 89 points through two weeks against SEC competition.

Now they get to face a familiar face in Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher. The Gators have lost seven of eight games against him while he was head coach of the Florida State Seminoles.

With Fisher now at Texas A&M, one trait he has kept from his time at FSU is his preference for a system quarterback that he’s had time to work with extensively.

For the Aggies, that means another year with Kellen Mond at the helm. Mond is off to an average start, but it certainly doesn’t help that he had to face Alabama in Week 5 (in just his second game this season). He still threw for over 300 yards and three touchdowns against the Tide.

For Florida, two wins have come with lots of points, but the question is how sustainable is the Gators' method of scoring.

South Carolina won time of possession by 13 minutes, while Florida only outgained the Gamecocks by 19 yards. Florida also had seven fewer first downs and only ran 50 total plays.

The Gators are 6.5-point road favorites, and while they get to avoid the "12th man of Kyle Field," I like Mond as a four-year starter to keep this one close against a Gators secondary that gave up 443 passing yards to Ole Miss.

Pick: Texas A&M +6.5

Stock in Georgia is high, as usual, with loads of talent on the roster and a resounding prime-time win against fellow Top 10 team Auburn last weekend.

Quarterback Stetson Bennett had an efficient and impressive second start. He averaged 8.6 yards per attempt, as the Bulldogs rolled 27-6 in a game they were leading 24-3 at half.

Much of Bennett’s success, however, came as a result of the Georgia offensive line bullying the Auburn defensive line. Auburn lost Derrick Brown and Marlon Davidson to the NFL, while Georgia offensive linemen Trey Hill and Ben Cleveland are back, and the contrast in power was evident.

Against Tennessee, Hill and Cleveland will find themselves across the line from Aubrey Solomon, a former 5-star recruit that transferred from Michigan. Solomon is expected to be a top-10 pick in the NFL draft. Running and pass protection will not be as easy.

On the other side of the ball, senior Tennessee quarterback Jarrett Guarantano is a player that was expected to have a breakout 2019 season and largely disappointed. He is, however, poised to have a nice final lap in his 2020 campaign.

Former Georgia 5-star offensive lineman, Cade Mays, is helping to protect, and Tennessee has had top-20 recruiting classes each of the last five years.

Expect the Vols to play a close battle against their division rivals.

Pick: Tennessee +13

The Big 12 race is officially up for grabs, with Texas and Oklahoma both experiencing early-season losses that have them looking like vulnerable favorites to win the conference title.

Two teams that now find themselves contenders are Kansas State and TCU. Both were upset winners against each of the aforementioned blue bloods.

These two teams face each other Saturday afternoon, and TCU is favored by 9.

Kansas State is not an explosive offense, but the program understands who it is and is extremely well-coached by Chris Klieman.

After dropping the first game of the season as 14-point favorites to Arkansas State, the Wildcats upset Oklahoma and easily handled Texas Tech.

Deuce Vaughn is a playmaker in every sense of the word. He averaged 7.1 yards per rush and 27 yards per reception in the win against Texas Tech.

TCU has a more explosive offense, led by quarterback Max Duggan, but this is a letdown spot for TCU, after an emotional and hard-fought victory against in-state rival, Texas.

Look for Kansas State to keep things close.

Pick: Kansas State +9
