Owning an undefeated colt in March of his 3yo year is a big deal.

A really big deal.

It's a take-over-the-front-page-of-your-local-sports-section big deal.

And this is exactly the adrenaline rush that Flying G Racing and Debra Rombis are experiencing now that Only I Know is unbeaten after two career starts.

Not only is he undefeated: he's unchallenged. His combined win margin is 14-1/4!

After breaking his maiden in his December 28 debut last year, the son of Flower Alley had to wait out several winter storms that either closed training or cancelled racing ~ or both.

The connections stayed put, waiting for the weather to break and the right condition to pop up in the book.

A 5f "non-winners of two races lifetime" (N2WL) Allowance came about on March 4th and the bay was entered against a field of four others come post time. With Andrew Ramgeet aboard, the colt broke clean and ranged up three deep to grab the lead going into the turn, drawing clear mid-stretch and holding on as Midnight Shine made a late run at the leader.

Besides being undefeated, Only I Know holds the rare distinction of being one of the few Triple Crown nominees with a win against older.

According to the connections, the next start for this budding superstar is a stake on the Charles Town Classic undercard on April 19.
