While many standardbred fans look for the hot horses climbing up the class ladder, they often look for drivers that seem to have the hot hand even on a cold night.

Delaware driver George Dennis is hardly a household name outside of the Mid-Atlantic region, but at Dover Downs and Harrington Raceway in his home state he is respected by fellow drivers and local horse players.

Tuesday evening at Dover, Dennis won the first three races on the card for three different trainers. He won the opener with 7-5 second choice Puddin for trainer Ronald Short, completed the early daily double by guiding 3-5 choice Seethelightsngo to a handy score and then capped an early hat trick by steering Options Are Adream to a 10-1 upset for trainer Richard Lewis.

Dennis would later notch his fourth win on the card and just miss posting a fifth.

Driver Tony Morgan, who has steered home more than 15,000 winners in a career that should someday land him a spot in the harness racing Hall of Fame, matched Dennis with four wins on the card.

Morgan guided San Fran Lady N to a head victory for trainer Steve Le Blanc,  steered Northern Rocknroll to a nose tally for trainer Darrell Lewis and later  won with favored Hostess Lisa for trainer Ronald Millman and later capped his grand slam with 24-1 outsider Scandaliacious for trainer Scott DiDomenico.

But driver Tim Tetrick got the milestone victory of the night, literally.  Tetrick won one race with Sage N and later won with Lady Beth and then later steered Duneside Chella to a neck victory for the 9,000th victory of a career that seems destined for the Hall of Fame.

Monday night at Yonkers Raceway in New York, catch driver Jason Bartlett had the hottest hand of all when he steered home eight winners, five for trainer Richard Banca.

Bartlett won the opener with the unbeaten filly pacer Beas Ideal, the won the third with Wayne The Lefty for Banca, the fourth with Dominus Hanover, the sixth with Credit Creation, the seventh with Brown Brinny for Banca and the eighth with Mybrothergeorge and the ninth with Ok Heartbeat for Banca, the 11th Get To Doin It and then capped the late daily double by steering A Plus Hanover to victory for Banca for a double grand slam.
