Excellent card on tap today at The Palm Beach Kennel Club. 15 races that should be exciting to watch and play all afternoon long.  Superstar CRT Yusef will go for season win #25 in Race 14. World famous track announcer Mike Jameson will be calling home all the winners today.

Here are the top races I am following for the Thursday Matinee at “The Beach.”

Race 4 Grade TB 301 Yards

The drag race with a twist we call the super sprint is a good one today.

#1 Boc’s Cayenne from owner Bob Rosko is sitting in a perfect spot on the rail.  Has won 50% of her races out of the prime 1 box this season, but all those races were in the higher class.  The grade drop and position will put Cayenne in the lead going around the one and only curve.

Main threat will come from veteran #5 Liberty Trail.  Has 30 wins all time here and is a 66% board hitter.  Is also grade dropping with Cayenne.

Wildcard is #8 LA’s Fox from Marsella Racing who is looking for three straight W’s.

Cayenne is setup too nicely to not take here for the win.

Picks 1-5-3-8

Race 12 Grade B 545 Yards

I’m surprised #4 Pat C Blackout is still in this lower class. Just got edged out by early burner Super C Roxee last time out and won’t see that kind of speed in this race.  Blackout goes for season win #11 for owner Patrick Collins.

Biggest challenge will come from the outside #8 HS Treybomb.  The Southland transfer already has blazed a 29.47 secs win this season at Palm Beach and will like the room outside for his wide running style.

Blackout gets back to the top grade where she belongs after this one.

Picks 4-8-3-2

Race 14 Grade A 545 Yards

The race of the day without a doubt.

One of the best racers all season long at Palm Beach has been #8 CRT Yusef from the Champions Racing Team.  Sits in his favorite 8 box, where he has finished 8/8 in the Quinela this season.  This could be the last race we see Yusef this season with everything wrapping up on Monday.  He absolutely will be in my final Top 10 Rankings when the racing is complete.

Yusef will need to close out some early fire breakers here. #3 Wuh Chowt (pronounced Watch Out) has led the last two races, only to cough it up at go time.  #2 Atascocita Dinah from Suncoast Racing has been a runner up the last two races, with times well under 30 seconds.  May surprise a few people if she takes the W here.

Yusef tears down the backstretch and gets the Grade A win here.

Picks 8-3-2-7

Top Pick Race 12- #4 Pat C Blackout
