Superstar Saturday is here and the action this afternoon should just be fantastic from start to finish.  Huge finale today with one of the hottest greyhounds at the track Stormy Brogan going for his fourth straight W, but will have to tangle with Puppy Stakes favorite Albatross to make that happen.

Here are the top races I will be following for the Matinee at “The Beach.”

Race 12 Grade B 660 Yards

My favorite play of the day will be on #1 L Wonderwoman from B & B Racing.  She is the grade drop that will pop today, as she draws the favorable 1 box on the Pat C Rendezvous Course.  Last two times Wonderwoman has dropped into this lower class, she blitzed under 38 secs finishes and won by a country mile.

The other grade dropper that may challenge is #6 Gable Daughtry, also from B & B.  The veteran has circled this track more than a 100 times in her career and did have 10 wins last season.  Wildcard is #3 Flying Fala who has won both starts on this course since transferring from the 545.

Wonderwoman is setup too nicely to walk away from her here.

Picks 1-6-3-7

Race 14 Grade B 545 Yards

It’s the battle of Hollywood actress greyhound names in this one!

Another A hound dropping down today is #8 Daphne Zuniga from owner Paul Amoroso Jr.  Last two times she came down to the junior varsity circuit you guessed it…two wins.  Also loves the outside 8 hole to fire out of.

Biggest threat to Zuniga taking this will come from #1 Cleopatra Jones.  Just missed the win last time out and should enjoy firing out of the 1 box today.  Too light on the win percentage to go with for the W, but should be able to hit the board here.

Hot shot rookie #4 Kiowa Top Gear must be put on any Exotic plays, as he has been in the money 83% of the time in his young career.

The Melrose Place actress Daphne Zuniga wins the battle of Hollywood in this one and gets back to Grade A where she belongs.

Picks 8-1-4-5

Race 15 Grade A 545 Yards

The race of the day without a doubt.

The finale today should absolutely be puppy prolific.

#4 Stormy Brogan from The Champions Racing Team has been smoking this track the last three races.  In the 29.50 sec range in all three, he is again sitting mid- track today where he loves racing from.  He will be in my Top 10 Rankings when they come out for sure.

The “Big Bird” #5 Albatross from top Kennel Rader Racing will look for an upset here. The Puppy Stakes favorite this month is already a 60% winner in his young career and is one of the most promising greyhounds running.

Look out for #1 KB’s Santa Fe who just won out of this 1 box last time out.

I’m going with Stormy Brogan to continue his hot streak to end the Matinee.

Picks 4-5-3-1

Top Pick Race 12 - #1 L’s Wonderwoman
