Greyhound Preview: Palm Beach For 9/13/2014
By Palm Beach JasonThe superstars of Palm Beach are coming out this afternoon! Bae Sang, JS SpeedyPebbles and Albatross all running on the same card? That’s why Palm Beach is a must watch each and every weekend.
Here are the top races I will be following for the Matinee at “The Beach.”
Race 4 Grade TA 301 Yards
Pretty shocking to see one of the world’s best #5 Bae Sang from top Kennel Rader Racing lose two races in a row. The 7 time winner this season is waiting for his main rival and kennel buddy KB’s Like A Fox to return this week, which will restart the greatest super sprint rivalry in greyhound racing again. I just can’t imagine Sang losing 3 in a row in this one.
Veteran #7 Liberty Trail from top trainer Kenny Borges is one racer that has bested Sang this year. Loves the outside and has a stellar season best time of 16.65 secs. Look out also for #3 Oh Mamma from owner Cheyenne Criswell who has been in the money the last four starts.
Bae Sang losing three in a row is not even an option to me. He rolls back to the winner’s circle where he belongs.
Race 10 Grade A 545 Yards
The “Big Bird” will look to spread its wings again this afternoon.
#3 Albatross from Rader Racing is one of the top puppies at this track and just smoked a 29.45 secs W last time out. If this hound can figure out how to consistently put strong races together, he has a shot at bringing home more Stakes titles to the top Kennel here.
#4 Jim Brown from owner Dr. Michael Metyk is the biggest threat to Albatross. Has the second fastest 545 yard time this season (29.38 secs) and has 6 wins. I am concerned that his times have risen the last 5 races, which only has me putting him for a board spot here.
Look out for the conservative greyhound #1 Glenn Beck who has won two straight out of the hot 1 box.
Albatross gets two in a row in this one.
Race 15 Grade A 545 Yards
The race of the day without a doubt.
The world will be watching as the most popular athlete at Palm Beach #1 JS SpeedyPebbles from the Koppe, Staats & Collins Team goes for her track leading 9th season win this afternoon.
Good competition today and it starts with #2 CRT Team Thunder. Just came off a schooling win which usually wouldn’t be all that impressive except that undefeated PFannys Timber T was in that race. Ran very strong in the Puppy Stakes tournament and could disrupt Pebbles today if she breaks well.
Wildcard is #7 AMF Trustee from B & B Racing who should be able to out rush her neighbor boxes on the outside and be near the front to start.
No way I pick against the “Queen of Palm Beach” in this one, especially in her favorite 1 box.
Top Pick Race 15- #1 JS SpeedyPebbles
