Greyhound Preview: Palm Beach For 9/19/2014
By Palm Beach JasonWelcome to the weekend with what should be an absolutely fantastic card today at Palm Beach. The “Super Sisters” JS SpeedyPebbles and JS Froot Loops both are starting today, along with the “Big Bird” Albatross. A star studded racing schedule that will showcase some of the best talent that is currently running here.
Here are the top races I will be following for the Matinee at “The Beach.”
Race 6 Grade A 545 Yards
One of the top puppies in the country #5 Albatross from Rader Racing will be looking for his third straight W this afternoon. Has reeled off two straight zingers, bolting under 29.70 secs times in each one.
Main threat to Albatross spreading his wings today will come from the outside in #8 CRT Majestic from The Champions Racing Team. Is a 50% winner so far this season, with 4 of those wins coming from this very 8 box.
Wildcard is #1 Gez Jacked Up, who has 7 wins of his own this season.
Albatross looks to be in top form and I’m picking him for the win in this one.
Race 10 Grade A 545 Yards
#1 JS Froot Loops from owner Shannon Henry makes up the dynamic duo of the “Super Sisters” with sibling SpeedyPebbles. Has the third fastest time of the season here (29.40 secs) and may have the best close at the track. Has won two straight out of the hot 1 box and gets that draw again today.
#8 PJ Smoke Em Out from the Agganis Kennel is a dynamic rusher and is a box to wire specialist. The problem for him here is that he has been incredibly short in his last 5 starts. Not a good thing when you have Froot Loops coming for you at go time. "Smokey" is a near lock to hit the money though as he is a 93% board hitter this season.
Look out for veteran #5 CRT Yusef from trainer Kenny Borges who had 24 wins last season and just blazed a 29.61 secs W in his last start.
Can’t go against Froot Loops here as the Sisters start off their card with a win.
Race 14 Grade A 545 Yards
The world of greyhound watchers will all be focusing on the “Queen of Palm Beach” #6 JS SpeedyPebbles from the Koppe, Staats & Collins team this afternoon. The season wins leader will be looking for career win #39. Is one of the best lid flippers on the planet and should showcase her talent in this one.
Any chance for an upset could come from #1 HareRaisnGudTime from B & B Racing. Great early speed and has been on fire in three straight starts. If she gets the lead in this one, it could be disruptive to Pebbles who can find it tough to close out racers ahead of her.
SpeedyPebbles is the best dog in this race and I think she gets her 10th win of the season here, completing the Super Sister sweep.
Top Pick Race 15- #6 JS SpeedyPebbles
