Thursday's card is looking good with some very promising greyhounds drawing their box and ready to show their talents. Get ready as always for some exciting Southland racing action and check out the picks below. Thanks for reading and good luck to all.

Race 6 - Here we have a grade A contest over the 583 yard course and I like the (7) Brasky Dusty to be the key here. He gives 110% each time out and should be out early and vying for the lead right from the start. The (4) Kebo Bellagio is an invader from the Mardi Gras track and did win his only schooling race and came right back with a second place finish in his first official race at Southland. Shows early speed and should be used here. The (1) Nitro Stubby loves the inside and especially the one box as he has two wins in his last six races from this spot. Not to be overlooked is the mid-track to wide running (8) Alone All Alone and I'll use him to complete my ticket.

Picks: 7 - 4 - 1 - 8

Race 7 - This is a grade M race over the 583 yard course and my key here is the (1) Klutch who likes the inside and who in three schooling races shows two wins and a second place finish. He has a good rush and even some stretch speed if needed. Also capable of getting the win, the (4) Arkans Bd Buck is looking to go early and does have two impressive schooling wins himself. These two greyhounds will be battling from start to finish and to finish out the picks, I will include the (8) Amf Sunny Honey and the (5) Oshkosh Alrick.

Picks: 1 - 4 - 8 - 5

Race 15 - This is a grade B contest over the 660 yard course and my pick is the (2) Ivanhoe. He likes the rail and this is the first time in over a month he has drawn an inside position. I look for him to be out quickly here and to hang on for the win. In the hunt will be the (4) PJ Dream Big, this greyhound has had trouble getting around the turns lately but is due to run a big race and does have the class to do so. Finishing out the tri and superfecta plays, I'll use the (1) Kiowa Red Dawn and the (3) KL's Jaegar.

Picks: 2 - 4 - 1 - 3

Race 17 - Here we have a grade SAA contest over the super marathon course of 820 yards and I'm going with the (1) Marble Arch to be the surprise of the night. Her wide running style may be the reason she's not on the morning line but she did win from the one box the last time she drew it and she wasn't the betting favorite then either, going off at 19-1. The (8) Gracie Of Ruckus is coming off a big win and has run hard the past few races getting two wins and two place finishes in her last four outings and will be in contention here as well. I look for the (2) Kiowa Tam Tops and the late running (4) Rc Holdingspride to be contenders for tri and superfecta plays.

Picks: 1 - 8 - 2 - 4

This evening's Moneymaker play is in the 9th race over the 703 yard course and is the (3) Flying Onlooker who is looking for her first win of the season at Southland as despite having six top four finishes, she's yet to cross the line first. I do believe however that she gets the job done tonight.
