June gets started with a bang as Southland has 18 exciting races on the card for this evening. The picks tonight are spread thru out and feature a race from four different grades, D,C,B and AA. An outstanding lineup of talented greyhounds going paw to paw is sure to bring excitement and entertainment for all so it's on to the picks. Good luck to all and thanks for reading.

Race 2 - Grade C - 583 yards - I'm going with the rail running (1) Kiowa Dee Gray to be the key as even though she has been having trouble lately, the inside post gives her enough of an edge to clear early and be in good position to get the win. I like the (2) Flying Bronze to be close at the finish. He is a double drop in class and should be able to close strong down the stretch. I will use the both the (6) Slatex Sandstorm and the (3) Backwood Ace to complete the play as they both have a good early rush and capable of big efforts in this race.

Picks: 1 - 2 - 6 - 3

Race 7 - Grade TD - 660 yards - The (4)T'S Heavy Chevy is the play here coming off a fine effort last time out  where he came from last place to finish second, beaten by only a length. I believe he's ready to run this evening and will use him as the key in this race. Going to the front should be the (5) C Ville Wiggins who has a lot of early speed and who just may steal a big enough lead to hold on if there is trouble behind him. Another early speed greyhound is the (6) KL's Don't Blink and though she may fade down the stretch, if there is any trouble behind her, she would certainly have a shot at the tri and superfecta plays. I will finish the play with the (7) ArkansBD Micheal who even though just a young pup has 5 top three finishes in his young eleven race career.

Picks: 4 - 5 - 6 - 7

Race 9 - Grade TB - 660 yards - Another distance race and I'm going with the (7) Fly Gold Plated to pull off the surprise of the evening. He is another young greyhound who has shown promise early in his career and he likes it mid-track and has a strong closing ability so with the odds he is going to have, I'm going to give him a shot at getting the upset win. The (1) Braska Digger likes the inside and is going for his second win in his last three races over this course, got to use him here. Also worth including on any tri and superfecta tickets are the (4) AMF Castillo who can close and the (6) Dineroajax who is a double drop in class and posted well here.

Picks: 7 - 1 - 4 - 6

Race 16 - Grade AA - 583 yards - A strong field of greyhounds for sure but I'm going with the very talented (6) Atascocita Gray to get his third straight win and 24th win in 48 races. The (2) CBJ Old Glory is an up and coming pup who has impressed me with his five wins and two second place finishes in his young eight race career and who gives %110 each time out. The (4) HL's Travis is going for his second straight win and will be vying for the early lead. Finishing out the tri and superfecta plays I will use the (8) Bumblebee Drive who likes it mid-track.

Picks: 6 - 2 - 4 - 8

The Moneymaker play of the evening is in the 4th race, a grade B contest over the 583 yard course and I'm going with the (8) KL's Brayden.
