We're shaking things up for this Friday card at Saratoga, the final such card this year at The Spa. We'll take a look at the early sequence here, and here's how I'll be playing it.

RACE #2: We open with a $25,000 claimer for turf sprinters. It's not an easy race, and as such, I'm going four-deep, using #1 Pegasus Red (15-1), #3 Kid Blast (4-1), #4 Patrick Henry (10-1), and #8 Bajan Summer (5-1).

Bajan Summer's last race was sharp. He broke from the 11-hole, yet overcame a wide trip to win by a length. This is his first start against winners, but the field didn't appear to come up as strong as it could have, and Irad Ortiz, Jr., hops back aboard for Christophe Clement.

RACE #3: Our second leg is a $65,000 maiden claimer for older fillies and mares. I'm going three-deep, using #5 Touch of Snow (5-1), #7 Rachel's Temper (6-1), and #8 Winner's Legacy (4-1).

I went with Winner's Legacy on top. Her two races in New York this year have been quite good, and she's shown a huge late turn of foot since dropping into the maiden claiming ranks. If there's an early pace in front of her, she should be coming late.

RACE #4: Here we have a real puzzler. It's a 1 1/4-mile starter allowance on dirt, and I'm using most of the field: #1 For the Luv of Lil/#1A Conspiracy (5/2), #2 Sinorice (7/2), #4 Desvelo (10-1), and #7 Village Warrior (3-1).

When Sinorice is on his game, he's a solid horse. He loves Saratoga (two wins and a third in four starts at The Spa), and his last race produced a career-high 92 Beyer Speed Figure. The distance shouldn't be an issue, and there should be some pace in here for the gelding to close into.

RACE #5: The payoff leg is an allowance for state-bred fillies and mares on the grass. I thought the morning-line man got this one right, as I'm using #4 Lady Kreesa (2-1) and #7 Devious Maddy (7/2).

Devious Maddy goes back to the grass, and the filly hasn't run a bad race in her last eight starts. She's got good tactical speed, and I love the rider switch to Irad Ortiz, Jr. A repeat of any of her last eight makes her a contender, and slight improvement probably puts her in the winner's circle.

This ticket checks in at $48 for a 50-cent bet. It's an intriguing sequence with several big prices involved, and hopefully we can catch something. Good luck!
