Throughout the Rosecroft Raceway spring meet that ends with a live card on Saturday that will get under way right after the Belmont Stakes the Fort Washington oval has put the best horses in the spotlight on Tuesday and that will be the case again this week in a variety of ways. A pair of horses will be honored on Tuesday, but the leading driver may not be decided until late on the Saturday card.

In the third race, a non-winners of $2500 last five starts class for pacers, look for Cracker Pullet (Frank Milby) will to regain his winning ways for owner-trainer Merla LaFountaine. Cracker Pullet has only won once in nine starts this meet and has been the beaten favorite in his last two against non-winners of $4000 last five company. This spot could be ideal for Cracker Pullet and could give Milby a a chance to get closer to Russell Foster in the standings.

Then two races in the fifth, look for Rosebud Dr Evil (Timmy Offutt) to continue his newfound winning ways for owner-trainer Jerry Nock after last week's four-length score in 1:54.1 against bottom-level conditioned foes. 'Rosebud' will likely not be the favorite in this spot thanks to the presence of Dancing Rusty, who was fifth as the 3-5 choice against similar last week and Upbyfive, another durable older sort from the LaFountaine barn.

Then two races later in the seventh, another non-winners of $2500 last five starts class, look for Diamondkeeper (Jonathan Roberts) to regain his winning ways after being the beaten favorite in his last three outings. Diamondkeeper has faced tougher throughout the meet and his presence in the winner's circle would be a welcome site for Roberts, who has been idle since having a lacerated hernia removed in late May.

Then one race later in the Open Handicap, Real Impulsive, Concert Artist, Jet Blue Miracle, Arpeggio Hanover, Go Collect N and Hi Sir all have a serious chance to prevail and two of them - regardless of how well they perform on Tuesday - will be honored for their efforts.

Real Impulsive won last week in 1:51.4, but while blessed with plenty of ability he rarely puts two good efforts together in consecutive weeks. Concert Artist was second last week in this class despite racing first over into a swift back half and looms a threat. Jet Blue Miracle was third last week while third over and can be a factor late. Arpeggio Hanover led throughout to capture the Open last week, but got a soft half and then just outkicked Concert Artist and Jet Blue Miracle. One Bad Shot steps up off two straight scores, Go Collect N has faced tougher elsewhere, while Hi Sir is looking to regain his winning ways after victories on April 19, 26 and May 3.

Concert Artist will head into the final Open of the meet with a 3-2-2 slate from 12 starts at the meet - he also ventured to the Meaowlands for one race - and has been tabbed as the horse of the meet by track management. The Brian Tomlinson-owned and trained pacer has performed well while racing from well off the post in his most of his outings.

Arpeggio Hanover notched his first score in the Open last week but boasts four wins in 12 starts at the meet and that earned him the selection from the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the U.S. Harness Writers Association as the Rosecroft spring meet champ. Owned and trained by Arty Foster, Jr., Arpeggio Hanover climbed through the conditioned ranks to face the top horses at the meet the last few weeks and gets the nod from the scribes for a trophy on Tuesday.

Then one race later in the 'Winners Over' class, look for Bad Man Sam (Milby), Hide Me Away (Foster) and Caviart Tyler (Roberts) to settle the issue in the lane. Bad Man Sam saw his modest two-race win streak come to an end last week when overtaken by Open-bound One Bad Shot, but he has a right to atone. Hide Me Away is winless in 17 starts this year but has been second four times and third on four other occasions and has been he beaten favorite in four of his five local tries and could make amends. Caviart Tyler always merits respect for the brother-sister, driver-trainer tandem of Jonathan and Megan Roberts.
