SOUTHLAND Preview - Saturday evening, December 5
Welcome to another Saturday evening card of entertaining and exciting greyhound racing at Southland as there are 18 races on tap for your viewing and wagering pleasure. As many of you know who follow MoneyMaker Mike's Southland previews, from time to time I like to go outside the box with picks and predictions and for a couple of programs this week I will monitor those greyhounds who are going for three straight wins. I did this a few months back and I was surprised to see that only a few were able to make it three wins in a row during that study. As always I will post the results of how these greyhounds did and see if we can come up with any trend when it comes to winning streaks. Good luck to all and thanks for reading.
Race 9 - 703 yards - Grade B - OSHKOSH OPAL - 2 box - He's a rail runner who can go early or come from behind. A young greyhound with only 14 career starts but who shows 10 top three finishes including 3 wins already.
Race10- 583 yards - Grade A - ROB NINKOVICH - 2 box - He's another inside runner who usually goes to the front as his tremendous early speed puts him as the pacesetter quite often. His last 5 races he's gone to the front and won 3 three of them. Trying for 3 straight wins but the Grade A competition will make it tough.
Race11- 583 yards - Grade AA - CHASMO'S DUTCH - 7 box - An extremely talented greyhound, he's the recent Southland Male Sprint champion and has 4 wins in his last 6 races and will make a strong bid here for 3 in a row. He's one of the best in the country and always a threat to win. Drew the 7 box for the 3rd straight time, won both previous starts from here.
Race14- 583 yards - Grade C - BRASKA YOSEMITE - 4 box - Another young runner with just 10 career starts but in those races, he does show 6 top three finishes. Shows decent early speed and a nice closing run.
Results from Thursday evening's picks -
Race 5 - DKC BARNEYRUBBLE - WON from the 6 box - went off at 8-1
Race10- MEGA ODDBALL - finished 8th
Race15- BBB WHISKEYRUN - finished 6th
Race17- KEEPER POCKET - WON from the 4 box - went off at 3-1
