November 19th, 2014

Welcome to another Southland preview for Wednesday's twilight program on 11/19/14. There are 3 of MoneyMaker Mike's 5 up and coming greyhounds running on this card and 3 MoneyMaker picks listed below. On our scorecard last night was a win by TC'S MIKE TROUT, one of MoneyMaker Mike's 5 up and coming greyhounds at Southland which I posted earlier this month. Also last night, one of our MoneyMaker picks was a 28-1 shot who pulled the upset of the program. Thanks for reading and good luck with your wagering opportunities.

Running in the 1st race, a Grade A contest over the 583 yard course, is NB'S LEBRONJAMES - one of the 5 up and coming young greyhounds that I highlighted several weeks ago for the month of November. This pup was 4 out of 4 at Palm Beach and since coming here to Southland, is 5 of 5 in the money here. He has 5 wins out of those 9 races and has steadily move up in grade. He has a strong rush to the turn with to go with a nice closing run, loves the rail and last time out, in his first Grade A race, gave a fine showing and came away with a 3rd place finish. He has the 3 box in this race and cannot be overlook even though the competition is tough.

In the 3rd race, a Grade C contest over the 583 yard course, we have PETER MILLS, another one of the 5 up and coming greyhounds for November. He has the 1 box in this race and with his inside running style, should have a solid opportunity here to battle for the win. He came here from the Dubuque track where he was 4 out of 4 in the money with 3 wins and a second place finish. Here at Southland so far he has had two starts and shows a 4th and 7th effort in those. With his good rush out of the box he should be among the frontrunners at the turn so I'll give him a shot at being in the money in this one.

The third of the 5 up and coming greyhounds for November at Southland is running in the 4th race, a Grade D contest over the 583 yard course and is FLYING FIRED UP who has the 8 box this evening. This young greyhound has shown a ton of potential already despite just have one official start along with two schooling contests. He won both schooling races, one by 8 1/2 and the other by 10 1/2 lengths. He followed that up by winning his first official race by 7 1/2 lengths. An inside runner, he's fast to the turn and then kicks it in high gear with a strong closing run to the wire. The competition will continue to get tougher but so far, he's been up to the challenge and I think he gets it done again here.

The first MoneyMaker play comes in the Grade C 11th race over the 703 yard course and is the (1) KL'S KYLE. He has 6 top four finishes in 10 career starts and while he has encountered trouble in 4 of his last six races, from the 1/2/3 box he has 2 wins and 2 seconds. The field is a tough one as he is going against several greyhounds who have more class but with his closing ability at this distance, he's worth a small play anyway, especially at the good odds he may go off at.

Our second MoneyMaker play is in the Grade D 14th race over the 583 yard course and here I'm going with the (5) ONE ATE HUNDRED. She has 4 top finishes in 8 races at Southland and though she likes the inside, she does occasionally go early and being that she is a double drop in grade, she could find herself among the frontrunners early. She does have a 3rd place finish in a Grade B just a few weeks back so I'll take a chance on her in this race.

The last MoneyMaker play for this card is in Grade D 16th race over the 660 yard course and is the (5) RCK JADE. She has two wins in her short career of 7 races, both over the 583 yard course. In her 2 races at the longer distance of 660 yards, she hasn't shown much but I'm going to overlook those and give her the benefit of the doubt. In both of her wins, she was among the early leaders and to be a threat here, I think she'll need to be out of the box fast. The odds should be very good on her and she's worth a small play at least.

Thanks for reading and good luck to everyone.
