The toteboard blew up on Sunday in the last race where the average win/place/show payout was just over $17.00, creating a carryover in the Super High-5 of $84,516 at Hollywood Park on Thursday. A full field of 11 will go to the gate in race eight; it's time to pick five.

There are already scratches of Starry Shark, Alpha Bullet and Marv, so we do not have to worry about them, but that doesn't help the handicapping much. Marv was almost guaranteed a spot in the top five, but the other two were long shots.

The morning line favorite for the race is Marino Mizer, who is making his third lifetime start for trainer Mike Harrington. The son of Marino Marini will be tough with the drop in class. He does; however, come off a layoff of about 45 days.

Another class dropper is Angel Charge and he is taking a bigger drop in class from straight maiden races. Angel Charge's best finishes have been a pair of fourths over the turf at Hollywood Park, but the class relief helps.

The race should unfold at a pretty swift clip with Indian Monkey, Sheriff Hutton, Marino Mizer and Grant all doing their running up front. Grant drew post ten, giving jockey Alex Bisono the decision to drop back if the pace is fast, or make the early running if the horses to his inside are off slow. Sheriff Hutton finished second in his last race behind a 10-length winner. That horse, Educated Guess, is in the first race on Thursday and a win there would make Sheriff Hutton a must use in the finale.

The bomber in the whole race is Bringon the Wain, making his first start for trainer Paul Aguirre, coming off nearly a year layoff. The four-year-old gelding has two seconds and five thirds in his 13 career starts and has been no worse than fifth in 11 of his 13 career starts.

If you are playing the pick-4, it may be best to spread as this race is wide open, but if you are playing the Super High-5, pick one horse for the win then use a couple underneath and spread out in the fourth and fifth spots.

First post on Thursday at the tracks of lakes and flowers is 3:30 pm ET with race eight scheduled to go off at 7:05.
