The New Mexico circuit makes a quick shift from Ruidoso Downs to Zia Park in Hobbs, New Mexico on Saturday, September 10.  Full fields and plenty of Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse stakes action is set for their 56-day live season.

Last year's leading Quarter Horse jockey, Esgar Ramirez, will return along with Adrian Ramos, Ivan Carnero, Jaime Leos and Jesse Lee Levario. Patrick Valenzuela, known as "P-Val" in southern California, has a mount on opening day.

There will be a new race caller at Zia Park. Jim McCullough has been tabbed as the track’s new announcer for its 12th season of live racing

The New Mexico track  will present 13 Quarter Horses stakes; most notably the $300,000-est. Hobbs America Futurity (G2) on October 9; the 440-yard, $150,000 Zia Park Championship (G1) on November 23; and the 440-yard, $200,000 Southwest Juvenile Championship (G1) on December 4.
