It’s rivalry week across the ACC, with cross-conference matchups for most of the conference’s teams. One rivalry matchup that is within the conference, however, will decide the Coastal Division and who faces Clemson in the ACC Championship Game.
What a difference a week makes. Following Kentucky’s stunning upset defeat to Evansville last week, the Wildcats have fallen all the way out of our Power Rankings, after holding the top spot last week. In their place steps their bitter rival, Louisville, and they bring four pals from their conference in this week’s top 10. It’s still early in the season, but the ACC flavor in this week’s rankings is strong.

It is a joyous day for college basketball fans, as today marks the tip-off to the 2019-20 NCAA men’s basketball season! Tonight’s Champions Classic at Madison Square Garden looks to be an exciting one, as four of the top teams in the nation will square off. Duke and Kansas will begin proceedings, and Kentucky will face Michigan State in the nightcap.
While Florida State has been disappointing this season, the Seminoles have still shown more signs of life recently than Syracuse. Look for them to make a late-season push toward a bowl game.
It’s unlikely defensive coordinator Bud Foster predicted this kind of season for his beloved Virginia Tech Hokies. In his 33th year with the program, Foster undoubtedly hoped for a more positive final campaign. Virginia Tech is 2-2 so far (0-4 against the spread) and enters Week 6 as a significant underdog against Miami.
