Weekend Stakes Races at Mardi Gras, Palm Beach and Bluffs Run

The $10K Floridian Stakes on Friday afternoon, April 19th

The last three races on the card have 24 of the best distance dogs in Forida contending for a berth in the next round which will run on April 22nd with the finals on April 26th.

Some standouts:

Race 7 #7 Wannadobadthings (5-1) #5 Santa's Clifton (5-2) #4 Lucky Betty (4-1) #3 Rush N Whacker (4-1)

Race 8 #4 HL's Dale (7-2) #3 Lucan Wolf (6-1) #8 Slatex Zeus (5-1)

Race 9 #8 Casper Van Dien (5-1) #4 Goodlucksterling (3-1)

Eight Finalists Contend In the Finals of the $20K Bob Balfe Puppy Stakes Championship on Saturday at PBKC

My money is on #1 Ol Stewball (4-1) in the 12th race at Palm Beach Kennel Club on Saturday night, but after that, I have a real problem handicapping this race. I can't remember when I've seen a better matched pack of pups in a race in a stakes.

One thing I'm worried about is that so many dogs will be heading inside, which might leave the field wide open for a midtrack runner to steal this race. One thing is for certain. When the race is finished, there will be one winner and champion to take the prize in this exciting stakes for young runners.

Bluffs Run $60K 3/8ths Mile Derby Second Round on Saturday April 20th

The first round was run on a very wet track and there were some amazing wins by double digit lengths. If the predicted showers hold off on Saturday, things may be very different on a dry track this time. Some of the winners that will be back for this round are Vision Revision, Iwa Killer, What You Need, Killer Buck, Iwa Sly, KL's Nessa, Killer Dare and Takenitalltheway.

On April 24th, 48 of the runners will return for the quarter-finals.

There's something for everyone at the greyhound races this weekend. From marathons to routes to puppies, three tracks will be providing lots of betting opportunities for cashing tickets. As always, safe trips and good racing luck to all the winners. And don't forget to get your free programs when you play the races on Bet America.
